Hello-
As a Gemini which is Mercury which is Hermes which is my surname, I feel a deep connection to understanding Hermeticism. Any good leads? I've read the Emerald tablet and the Kybalion. Would love to study more.
My experiential learning has brought me to India, Nepal, Burma. Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Tibet. Vipassana, rebirthing. Psychedelics, religion, entheogens. Dark hour of the soul.
I’ve always felt that religions all say the same thing – each has just sullied the pure message with its own unique cultural bias or desire for turning a buck. In looking at Hermes' Seven Principles of Philosophy, they refer to concepts the Buddha described (principle of vibration); Vedic karma (principle of cause & effect); Taoism yin/yang (principles of gender and polarity); Judeo-Christian Man-in-God’s-image basis (principle of correspondence); quantum physics (principles of vibration and rhythm); Gnostic and esoteric beliefs that God is found through knowledge (principle of mentalism); and all religions’ basic tenet of the Golden Rule.

Fri, March 25, 2005 - 12:47 PMYep check out Jungs work on Alchemy. There are a slew of modern books on the same. That is they are using Hermeticism & or Alchemy as a framework for spiritual transcendence (well that parts not really new, but they write as if it is.)
So you read the Kyballion... I wrote a song about it.
The Hermetic Rap-
These are the seven keys of Hermes,
the 7 laws of Philosophy.
1st is the law of the universal mind
everything that is or was contained inside/
2nd is the law of correaltion
as above so below
they're all in relation.
3rd is the law of Vibration
everything that lives
moves in gyration
4th is the law of polarity
paradoxes reconciled
they're different by degree.
5th is the la of Rhythm
tides go in & out waves up & down
in the poles interacton
6th is the law of cause & effect
everything effects another
it's all perspective
7th is the law of gender
everything contains it's opposite
within it.
These are the seven keys of Hermes
the lawsd of transcendental philosophie!
