I'm reading "Legacy of the Beast" by Gerald Suster, which seems to be a fairly accurate if pro-crowley biography.
One of the lines he says is "Magicians are not dogmatic". Anyone have a reaction to that statement? Have you met dogmatic magicians?

Re: Magicians are not Dogmatic
Mon, July 12, 2004 - 12:06 PMI've definitely met some magicians that are firmly dogmatic. It's kind of like Zen followers: some always break the rules to learn the rules, and some memorize how other people broke the rules and then repeat that knowledge ad infinatum.
The practice of magick does not necessarily eliminate ones ability to cling to things like dogma. Sometimes dogma may not even be a bad thing.
